Camera comes bundled with USB-enabled CF card...

Lexar Media Inc. has today distributed a press release noting that Nikon Inc.'s newly announced Coolpix 995 digital camera will come bundled with a Lexar flash card. The Coolpix 995 bundle includes a 16MB Lexar 8X CompactFlash card, which features a built-in USB controller allowing users to transfer images to their PC or Mac with only a special cable (not included) - no card reader needed.
"Lexar Media and Nikon have had a relationship since both companies joined forces to bundle our digital film with the Nikon Coolpix 880 and 990 digital cameras," said John Reimer, Lexar Media's president and CEO. "Consumer response to this co-marketing arrangement has been significant, as evidenced by the high demand for the Nikon's Coolpix product line and Lexar Media CompactFlash digital film."

2001-05-01 17:36ET:Lexar notes that their USB JumpShot cable is not included in the Coolpix 995 bundle, although the CompactFlash card included is a USB-enabled type. We've amended the item to reflect this.
