Dave tries out Olympus' 1.3 megapixel entry-level digicam, first in the new 'Brio' family...
This is going to be a good year for cameras at the low end of the market, as manufacturers bring the technology for optics and color management in the higher end models down market to more affordable cameras. The D-100 is a good example of this with 1.3 megapixel resolution, but great-looking color, and surprising sharpness for its resolution level. The new camera is quite slim, unusually so for a camera without a telescoping lens. This is thanks to a unique lens system that uses a mirror to "fold" the optics internally, producing the very slim profile. Overall, a neat little camera for the point & shoot crowd, easy to drop in a pocket and take anywhere. Check the review for full details!
