Kodak Professional's Second Annual Innovator Awards Recognize The Most Creative Uses of Large-Format Inkjet Imaging Technology Submissions Due by Aug. 1; Winning Work to be Displayed at Seybold San Francisco
ROCHESTER, N.Y., May 16 - Kodak Professional, the Eastman Kodak Company division that provides total large-format inkjet solutions, urges imaging professionals to "Think Big!" as they submit their most creative, high-impact work for the Second Annual Innovator Awards for large-format image output applications.
The awards recognize the most innovative applications of large-format inkjet printing, and last year's applicants turned in some of the most powerful and dramatic images rolling off large-format inkjet printers today. In its first year, the Kodak Professional Innovator Awards program distinguished itself as a premier showcase for the best large-format images being produced by a growing and innovative industry. "Along with the tremendous expansion of large-format inkjet printing in the last few years, we've seen a wave of originality on the artistic side, and we believe it's important to recognize and share that innovation with the whole industry," said Ron Corn, Marketing Manager, Large-Format Inkjet Solutions, Kodak Professional. "We were very pleased with the submissions for the first year of the Innovator Awards, and this year we expect to see applicants come up with more original ideas for this format. We feel the sky is the limit for creativity." Contest winners will be honored and their work will be displayed at Seybold 2001 in San Francisco, September 24-28. One Grand Prize Winner will receive a free trip to the Seybold show in San Francisco and $1,500 worth of Kodak Professional inkjet media. Three first-prize winners will be reimbursed for airfare and hotel room costs related to their show attendance. Three second-place winners will receive Kodak Professional large-format inkjet media valued at $1,000. Three third-place winners will receive $500 worth of Kodak Professional large-format inkjet media. Submissions, which will be judged at the Kodak Professional Academy, are due August 1. Judges at the Academy expect the most spectacular inkjet projects printed on Kodak Professional large-format inkjet media to be entered in the competition by the best creative minds around. Kodak's rising position in the fast-growth large-format display segment is yet another example of the company's high-profile involvement in Infoimaging - a $225 billion industry created by the convergence of images and information technology in ways that were never before possible. Infoimaging describes images, enabled by technology, improving communication and commerce, and creating significant new revenue and market opportunities for businesses.
Contest Guidelines The awards are open to imaging professionals living in the United States and Canada. Contestants can submit up to three entries based on media type, but are limited to one entry per media type. An entry form must accompany each submission. Photocopies of the original entry form are acceptable for multiple submissions. Entries must be at least 16x20 inches in size, but no larger than 36x60 inches. For oversized projects, contestants are asked to submit a representative sample or piece of the full-scale image (for quality judging) along with a photo showing the entire work. Entries must be printed on Kodak Professional media using any compatible large-format printer.
