First review of new image storage device looks pretty positive...
Our good friends over at Steve's Digicams have posted a review of the Sima Image Bank CP-150, an interesting portable storage solution that is offered with a 3.2GB hard disk drive, or in a driveless version that allows you to choose your own storage capacity... Steve concludes: "This is an excellent image storage device given two shortcomings (in my opinion): a battery and a padded carrying case. The operation of the Image Bank was simple and flawless. Basically just stick your flash card in the slot and push a button, it doesn't get any easier than that. And it was almost as simple to move the files from the Image Bank to the host computer's hard drive. Once connected the Image Bank's hard drive becomes a removable drive that shows up just like your C: drive." Sounds like Sima have a simple and elegant solution to the problem of limited flash capacity - and they have plans to provide for a battery pack that will solve Steve's main complaint with the device. Steve also has a suggestion in his review for how to power the unit on batteries now, rather than waiting for Sima's battery pack... Read the review for more on this.
