Jeff Keller tries out Toshiba's 2.3 megapixel, 3x optical zoom digital camera...
Our friends at the Digital Camera Resource Page have posted the first review we've seen of Toshiba's PDR-M61 digital camera, which was first announced back at the start of February. Unfortunately Jeff didn't seem impressed by the unit, concluding: "The 2 Megapixel, 3X zoom camera market is pretty crowded, with all the major manufacturers selling cameras in this space. Unfortunately, the Toshiba PDR-M61 falls at the back of the pack in my eyes. The photo quality was sub-par, camera operation was sluggish, and it was pretty light on features compared to the competition. My advice is to consider one of the cameras listed below instead -- your money can be better spent on another camera." If you've been considering buying the PDR-M61, hop on over and give Jeff's review a read - then judge the image quality for yourself in the gallery...
UPDATED 2001-06-21 15:33ET: Steve Sanders over at Steve's Digicams dropped us a note to let us know that he too reviewed Toshiba's PDR-M61, back in April of this year. Sorry Steve - we missed that one at the time, I think! Steve's review echoes Jeff's quite closely, noting: "With all the choices out there in the 2-megapixel arena I can't help but thinking that your money could be better spent on another camera."
