SiPix Announces SP-1300 Shoot & Share Digital Camera 1.3 Mega Pixel digital camera prints directly to SiPix PocketColor 200 mobile photo printer
PC EXPO/TECHXNY, New York, June 25, 2001–– SiPix, Inc., The Digital Imaging Appliance Company, today announced the SP-1300 Shoot & Share 1.3 Mega Pixel digital camera. The SP-1300 connects directly to the SiPix PocketColor 200 for instant printing of digital photographs, without the need for a PC, creating a truly portable digital darkroom. The camera will be available in July for a suggested retail price of $179.
“The SP-1300 offers a good value for consumers,” said Michelle Lampmann, market research analyst, digital photography trends at InfoTrends Research Group, Inc. “Using the SP-1300 and the SiPix PocketColor 200 printer, users can easily print and share their digital photos in the home or office and on the go.”
An evolution in design and functionality, the camera not only prints directly on the go, but it also comes with many features usually found on expensive digital cameras. This includes a 1.8-inch LCD display, a 2x digital zoom, a manual exposure compensation button, special effects including a Black and White and a Sepia mode, 4 megabytes of internal memory, a CompactFlash slot, red-eye reduction, a dual mode self timer and is Direct Print Order Format (DPOF) compliant.
In addition, the SP-1300 includes the SiPix USB Mass Storage feature that allows users direct access to the images stored on their camera. Traditionally, the TWAIN interface has required a series of steps needed to gain access to the images. Now, Windows 98, 98SE, 2000 and ME users can use their camera like a hard drive. They can quickly transfer images from the SP-1300 to their computer without the need of a third party TWAIN application.
The SP-1300 offers one button instant printing when connected to the SiPix PocketColor 200. The PocketColor 200 is available separately for $179. The SiPix printer uses an advanced thermal color transfer method to create vivid 2-inch by 2.5-inch photos.
Support and Warranty
The SiPix SP-1300 includes a USB cable, camera strap, a quick start guide and 4 AA batteries, two CD-ROMs containing MGI PhotoSuite III SE, the SP-1300 TWAIN driver, Adobe Acrobat Reader and a PDF owner’s manual.
The camera is backed by a one-year warranty and toll free technical support offered for one year from purchase. The toll free technical support number is 1-866-888-1678, and is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific Time, and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time. Lifetime technical support is available at no additional charge at 408-719-5076 with the same hours as above.
