Canon updates PowerShot/EOS drivers! By

Latest 3.7 versions now available, but what is changed?
Canon has posted new versions of the driver software for its PowerShot and EOS D30 digital cameras on its website. The latest versions of the drivers are available for serial, USB, Windows Image Acquisition and Mac PhotoShop users, and with the exception of the USB driver which is now at v3.7.1, all the drivers are v3.7.0.
Canon has not detailed in the driver bundles or on its website what exactly has been changed. The new drivers tested out as no faster at converting D30 RAW files on our PC, and although a number of the DLL files show new revisions, nothing stands out as obviously different in useage. In fact, the main thing we spotted is that there is now an HTML file in the USB driver bundle telling users how to uninstall their old drivers before installing the new ones (in the past, following Canon's instructions on installing driver updates has proved problematic if we didn't first uninstall the drivers - but why these new instructions are in a separate file we don't know)...
The only other thing we noted is that in the new driver set, the Raw Image Converter application will not install on our PC. (We get a rather unhelpful error message stating that 'the parameter is incorrect' when we try to install). The version number in the Raw Converter text file has not changed though, so presumably there is no need for existing users to update this application. New users though will quite possibly not be able to install it.
If we find out what Canon has changed in the new drivers, you'll hear it here... :)
