Dutch website looks at Pentax's upcoming entry-level digicam...
Our friends at the bilingual (Dutch/English) LetsGoDigital.nl website were first to bring news of Pentax' upcoming EI-100 digital camera back at the end of May, and they've done it again, this time bringing the first overview we've seen of the camera. The report concludes: "The Pentax Ei-100 is clearly an entry-level digital camera and will be good enough for those who want to use a digital camera next to an analogue camera, but don’t want to spent too much money on it. The Pentax Ei-100 is an easy-to-use camera without redundant functions and with a friendly price tag on it. A minus is the missing video cable that is an optional accessoire and the PAL setting." The report includes a number of images of the camera from different angles, and a look at camera design and control. Pentax has yet to announce plans to sell the camera outside of Europe, where it will cost €309 (US$265)
UPDATED 2001-07-23 11:32ET: IR reader Scott Jaworski notes that the Pentax EI-100 has been available in Canada for several weeks, with a pricetag of CDN$299 (US$193). Thanks, Scott!
