Confusion over NDA sees us scooped by European websites; after a scramble to remove details they've not mentioned, we're now posting the same info...
Olympus will tomorrow announce its new Camedia D-40 digital camera, and we have prepared our usual in-depth coverage of the announcement for you. Unfortunately it seems that (as so often happens), there is confusion over the NDA times provided by the manufacturer - the folks at the Digital Photography Review website have posted their coverage some 14 hours before the NDA time Olympus America gave us of 9AM ET tomorrow, and they apparently posted an hour behind a German website, foto-erhardt.de. Unfortunately Mike was out for the evening, not expecting anything untoward - and has only just been able to get something together matching DPReview's item.
Since information is now publically available from DPReview, we are releasing the same info (after heavily editing our news item of tomorrow to remove details not already disclosed). Be sure to check back at 9AM tomorrow for the full story including the US press release, more in-depth specifications, US pricing and lots more images of the camera from all angles!
