Camera Modes and Menus
Record Mode: This mode is automatically entered when the lens cover is opened. Exposure is automatically controlled, as is white balance. Light sensitivity is set to ISO 100. Pressing the Menu button displays the following choices:
- Review On: Enables (or disables) the Instant Review function.
- Zoom: Activates the digital zoom, placing a red border around the LCD image and automatically adjusting the digital zoom to 1.5x. Pressing the Up arrow digitally enlarges the image even further, to 2x and 2.5x settings, while pressing the Down arrow decreases and eventually cancels the digital zoom.
- Setup: Displays the following submenu:
- Format CF: Formats the CompactFlash card, erasing all files.
- Beep: Turns the camera's beep sounds on or off.
- Date & Time: Sets the camera's internal clock and calendar.
- LCD Brightness: Adjusts the brightness level of the LCD display.
- Language: Changes the camera's menu language to English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, or Japanese.
Playback Mode: Playback mode is entered by pressing the blue Display button on the camera's back panel when the lens cover is closed. Images can be reviewed, write-protected, rotated, or set up for printing on DPOF or JetSend devices. The Playback menu offers the following selections:
- Erase: Deletes the currently displayed image, or all images, from the CompactFlash card. There is an option to exit without deleting anything.
- Thumbnail: Displays up to nine thumbnail images to a page.
- Lock: Write-protects the current image, or all images on the card, from being accidentally erased or manipulated in any way (except from card formatting). You can also remove write protection.
- Rotate: Rotates the current image 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise. You can rotate the image repeatedly until you are satisfied with the results.
- DPOF: Allows you to mark the current image or all images for printing on a Digital Print Order Format (DPOF) device. You can also remove DPOF markings.
- Magnify: Enlarges the currently displayed image to 2x for closer inspection.
