Perfect365 now available for iPhone, iPad

Multimedia software developer ArcSoft, Inc. has announced immediate availability of its recently-announced Perfect365 application on Apple's iOS operating system.
Best known to digital photographers for its PhotoStudio, MediaImpression, and Panorama Maker apps which ship with many digital cameras from a variety of manufacturers, ArcSoft introduced Perfect365 for Windows a couple of weeks ago. The software allows quick and easy touchup of portraits, making light work of corrections such as removing shine, smoothing and softening skin, removing blemishes, whitening teeth, and enhancing smiles. It's possible to take this even further, with tools to adjust eye color and apply virtual "makeup" on your subjects' face, eyes and lips, and to tweak facial structure. All of this is achieved courtesy of face detection that identifies the location of subjects in the original image.
To get a feel for what's possible, take a look at the gallery on the Perfect365 website. (The link will take you to the most popular photos, and a menu at the top of the page will take you to various other categories of gallery samples.) A free version allows saving images at up to 600x600 pixel resolution, while the full Windows app costs about $30.
As well as the previously-launched Windows version, Perfect365 is now available for Apple's iPhone and iPhone devices. There are two versions available: the standard edition which will work on the iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad, and an iPad-specific edition dubbed Perfect365 HD. While the regular pricing--around $2 for the standard edition, and $5 for the HD version--is already in impulse-buy territory, ArcSoft is currently running an introductory discount that could net you either version for under a dollar (and indeed, if you own both a smartphone or iPod *and* a tablet, you could pick up the pair for less than the price of a cup of coffee.)
Photographers using Apple's Mac OS X desktop operating system, or smartphones and tablets running Google's Android OS will, we understand, also be able to obtain Perfect365 in the near future. The current estimate is that a Mac OS version will ship from early December, while Perfect365 for Android is expected from January 2012 or thereabouts.
