Kodak faces threat of possible NYSE delisting

Kodak's logo. Click here to visit the Kodak website!Eastman Kodak Co. faces the threat of delisting from the New York Stock Exchange later this year, unless it is able to turn around its falling stock price, according to a press release issued by the company today.

According to the release, Kodak received a listing standards notice from the NYSE after its average closing price remained below the $1 per share mark for 30 consecutive trading days. Exchange rules give the company a period of six months from receipt of the notice to bring its stock back above $1 per share for 30 consecutive trading days.

Options available for Kodak include a reverse stock split, effectively merging shareholders' holdings to create a smaller number of shares with a value that meets the NYSE's trading rules, but as noted by Forbes (in an article which has since been taken offline), the company must find alternatives if it is to solve its deeper problems.

Kodak Receives Continued Listing Standards Notice from the New York Stock Exchange

ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE:EK) today announced that the Company has received a continued listing standards notice from the New York Stock Exchange (the “NYSE”) because the average closing price of the Company’s common stock was less than $1.00 per share over a period of 30 consecutive trading days.

The Company’s common stock continues to trade on the NYSE. Under NYSE rules, the Company has six months following receipt of the notification to regain compliance with the minimum share price requirement. The Company can regain compliance at any time during the six-month cure period if the Company’s common stock has a closing share price of at least $1.00 on the last trading day of any calendar month during the period and also has an average closing share price of at least $1.00 over the 30 trading-day period ending on the last trading day of that month or on the last day of the cure period.

The Company’s Securities and Exchange Commission reporting requirements and debt obligations are not affected by the receipt of the NYSE notification.
