2012 is shaping up to be quite a year for photographers. We're only seven weeks in, and we've already had over eighty camera announcements, quite a few of them major. Over the coming days and weeks, many of these cameras will be becoming available. If you want to be among the first to be shooting with the most interesting models, though, you'll likely need to preorder.
That's where Imaging Resource affiliate partner Adorama steps in: they're now taking preorders on a raft of the cameras announced at the CES / PMA and CP+ tradeshows. If there's a particular model you're after, chances are you can reserve a place in the queue--and as an added bonus, you'll be supporting this site!
In no particular order, here are a few of the more significant cameras announced so far this year. (If you don't see your favorite model listed, click here to search yourself on Adorama's site):
-
Canon PowerShot G1 X
See our G1 X preview for more info -
Fujifilm X-Pro1 (body-only; of course, you'll want to pick up some lenses: either the 18mm f/2.0, 35mm f/1.4, or 60mm f/2.4)
See our X-Pro1 preview for more info -
Nikon D4 (body-only, and you'll probably want the WT-5A wireless transmitter, too)
See our D4 preview for more info -
Nikon D800 (or maybe you'd prefer the D800E, which effectively removes the low-pass filter for higher resolution; don't forget the MB-D12 battery grip and maybe a BL-5 battery chamber cover)
See our D800 preview for more info -
Olympus E-M5 (body-only in black or silver, or you can get it with a 14-42mm lens in black, or with a 12-50mm lens in either color. You'll probably want to pick up the HLD-6 battery grip, FL-600R flash, and maybe the MMF-3 Four Thirds mount adapter too)
See our E-M5 preview for more info -
Pentax K-01 (body-only in yellow, black, or white, or you can pick it up with a 40mm f/2.8 lens, or in a dual-lens kit with 18-55 and 50-200mm lenses)
