If you're shooting with one of Pentax's recent single-lens reflex digital cameras, chances are that there's new firmware available for you today.
Firmware updates have been issued for the medium-format flagship 645D model, as well as four APS-C cameras. These include both the Pentax K-5 and K-7 enthusiast SLRs, the mid-range K-r, and the entry-level K-x.
In all cases, the firmware is said to improve reliability when writing to SDXC memory cards, as well as including updates made in previous releases. No other changes are noted in the new firmware.
The updates are available for both Windows and Mac OS platforms. Current revisions for each camera are now as follows:
-
Pentax 645D: Version 1.13
-
Pentax K-5: Version 1.13
-
Pentax K-7: Version 1.12
-
Pentax K-r: Version 1.12
-
Pentax K-x: Version 1.03
