Nikon UK hikes D4, D800, D800E pricing, honors preorders

If you're based in the UK and you've recently preordered the upcoming Nikon D4 or Nikon D800 / D800E DSLRs, count yourself lucky: Nikon UK has just announced a price hike for both models, but it's promised to honor preorder pricing on orders received before March 24th.
The story broke last Friday on Sterling Publishing's Pixiq website, and has been confirmed in a statement today from Nikon that updates the original article, and has been mirrored by a range of European photo sites.
Blaming a "local internal systems error", Nikon UK stated that it had incorrectly communicated recommended retail pricing for the D4, D800, and D800E, and that the prices for all three models would be raised with immediate effect.
British list pricing for the Nikon D4--originally announced at £4800--is now set at about £5290, an increase of about 10%. The Nikon D800 and D800E, initially launched at £2400 and £2690, will now be offered at £2600 and £2890 respectively, about 8% higher than previously.
