Canon's Cinema EOS C300 camera. Photo provided by Canon.A few days after it issued updated firmware for the EOS 60D / 60Da and EOS 5D Mark III digital SLRs and four of its professional camcorder models, Canon USA has released firmware updates for two more products in yet another category. This time, the updates are for two of its Cinema EOS-series professional interchangeable-lens video cameras, the closely-related EOS C300 and EOS C300 PL. (Essentially, the same camera in EF-mount and PL-mount form.)

Firmware version 1.0.6.1.00 for the EOS C300 cameras brings three changes, as follows:

  1. Genlock synchronization can now be used to synchronize the camera’s 24.00P, 24.00PsF, 23.98P, and 23.98PsF input signals.

  2. Adds the Korean language to the camera’s menu.

  3. Minor corrections to simplified Chinese language menus.

More details and the firmware download can be found on Canon's website.
