Sigma SD1 DSLR: now with improved metering

Japan's Sigma Corp. might not be among the world's largest camera makers, but that's not preventing it from providing an impressively quick update schedule for its flagship Sigma SD1 digital SLR, in both original and SD1 Merrill variants.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Sigma released a firmware update for the SD1 that brought improvements including a shorter startup time. Now, they follow up with firmware version 1.08 for the SD1 (mirrored by v1.03 for the SD1 Merrill), which makes either camera's evaluative exposure metering more accurate.
No other changes are noted in the new firmware. For the original Sigma SD1, the firmware can be downloaded here. SD1 Merrill owners will want to grab a different download here.
