Many of us have been drooling over the new compact, full-frame Sony RX1 that was announced earlier this month. And while the specs are indeed impressive -- 24.3 megapixel fullf-frame sensor, 35mm fixed Carl Zeiss f/2.0 lens, nearly pocketable size -- what we've been really waiting for are some sample photographs that prove the image quality of the RX1 is truly drool-worthy.
Sony has obliged us by posting a small gallery of full-resolution photos that should help tide us over until the RX1 starts shipping in November. But no matter how much these sample shots might make us fantasize about buying the camera, most of us will be brought back to reality once we remember that Sony RX1 ownership comes with a hefty price tag of US$2,800. So what do you think of the RX1 and this first batch of sample images? Are you going to buy one right away, wait and see or give it a pass?
