Harrowing video shows BBC cameraman attacked in arctic pod by hungry polar bear

Yes, polar bears might look all cute and cuddly but they are extremely dangerous animals, especially when they're hungry, as this harrowing video shows.
In the below clip, filmmaker Gordon Buchanan is housed in a plexiglass pod -- sort of an arctic shark cage -- in Svalbard, Norway, shooting footage for a BBC documentary series called "The Polar Bear Family and Me." (Sounds innocent enough, right?)
After a few minutes, a curious, 1,000-pound, 8-foot-tall polar bear literally sniffs Buchanan out through the cracks in the pod. Then all hell breaks loose as the bear attacks the pod while trying to get to Buchanan inside.
The below clip is just a portion of the 45 minutes of terror that Buchanan went through while the bear tried to make a meal of him.
