DxO update extends mirrorless, enthusiast compact support, adds hundreds of lens modules
posted Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 3:24 PM EST
Just like clockwork, the latest monthly update to French software company DxO Labs' flagship, photographer-centric workflow app, DxO Optics Pro, has just arrived. This month, the update adds support for an additional four cameras from three manufacturers. Bug fixes are also included, although only one is detailed by DxO: an issue affecting Canon SX50 HS owners.
The big news, as always, is the updated lens correction module selection, however. No less than 213 new lens/body combinations are supported, with the bulk of these targeting Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, and Pentax shooters. (And while a fair few of these are specific to newly-supported camera bodies, most are actually extending compatibility for users whose camera bodies were already supported in previous versions.) In all, DxO says that more than 11,000 lens correction modules are now available!
Cameras newly supported in Optics Pro 8.1.4 include the Nikon P7700 enthusiast compact, Nikon J3 mirrorless, Olympus XZ-2 enthusiast compact, and Panasonic GH3 mirrorless. In addition, one bug is fixed for the previously-supported Canon SX50 HS, support for which was added in the 8.1.2 release. White balance could be wrongly adjusted in raw files from this camera, but the problem has now been resolved.
More details on the DxO Labs website. Optics modules that have been added include all of the following:
