Spanish cinematographer Enrique Panheco has produced a gorgeous short movie about Morocco using, primarily, a Sony A99 digital SLR. The sensual, 4-minute clip is called "The Maghreb" and was recently named a "Staff Pick" on Vimeo. (See the movie embedded below.)

"Morocco is a country that awakens in the photographer a desire for adventure," Panheco says in describing the video on Vimeo. "From the green mountains of the northern Rif to the arid and warm desert of Erg Chebbi, Morocco offers endless opportunities to get those fantastic images that we have always dreamed of."

Along with the A99, he used a Sony FS700 camcorder, and a Xlidercam-M motorized slider to help capture some of the movie's stately tracking shots. In addition, the "The Maghreb"  features lovely time-lapse sequences; intricate night work; and some great follow shots using what appears to be a steadicam.

(And speaking of the Sony A99, here's a great deal on an A99 bundle with a vertical grip and a flash.)
