Leica took the wraps off its soon-to-launch Mini M a bit more today, showing a partial image of the black camera emerging from a box on its Facebook page. In the Facebook posting, the company said photographers will be able to get "a hands-on experience" with the new camera at Leica Authorized Dealers on June 11.
Leica also said that the new Mini M will have a "larger than usual sensor for its relatively small body." But other than that and the rampant rumors that have filled the Internet about the new Leica camera, there's still not much hard information to go by.
One thing that is discernible from the image of the Mini M is that it does not appear to have a viewfinder on top of the camera. It also seems to have a textured body that looks similar, but appears to be a bit taller than the Leica X2. In Leica's projected camera lineup, the X2 is the step-down model from the Mini M.
Leica has been teasing the Mini M since May, which has led to much speculation about what the German company has up its sleeve. In a week, we'll know for sure.
