I've never been to the Burning Man festival and I've never had an, ahem, burning desire to pay a visit but I have been fascinated by this Road Warrior-style, hippie party in the desert.

If you feel the same way as I do, you might want to check out this wonderful, aerial footage showing a "Drone's eye view of Burning Man 2013," as the video clip is called. It's kind of like going to Burning Man without getting all scroungy and dusty. The clip was shot with a GoPro Hero3 camera mounted on a DJI Phantom quadcopter, an aerial video combo that's all the rage these days, to good and bad effect.

The video was shot by Eddie Codel, who remotely piloted the DJI Phantom over Burning Man 2013 in Black Rock City, Nevada. Unfortunately, the footage is limited to daytime scenes on the playa so we never get see any of the evening fire show going on. It does look like an interesting time but I still have no desire to go, especially considering some of the festival's absurd photography restrictions.
