We've published our first real-world sample images taken with a production-level version of the new Sony RX10, a premium 8.3x optical zoom camera with a f/2.8 constant max aperture that we've been hoping turns out to be the "ultimate" bridge camera for enthusiast photographers. At a Sony press event in Nashville, IR publisher Dave Etchells and news editor Mike Tomkins have been shooting with this model, as well as the Sony A7 and Sony A7R full-frame mirrorless cameras, extensively.
Check out our first batch of Sony RX10 sample gallery images here.
The Sony RX10 uses the same, excellent 1-inch type sensor as the RX100 II, but delivers a 35mm-equivalent range of 24-200mm through a very fast, bright Carl Zeiss lens. But that's just the tip of the iceberg of goodness. The camera's feature list is pretty eye-popping, including superior EVF optics, a new and super-fast AF system, unlimited 10 frames-per-second, direct-to-card shooting with full autofocus tracking and exceptional video capabilities.
