In October, Samyang announced that a handful of its lenses would be tweaked for full-frame on Sony E-mount. Now Samyang has officially introduced the five newly mounted lenses, though they don't appear to be available to purchase just yet.

The lenses that will now be available are:

• Samyang 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC
• Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS IF UMC
• Samyang T-S 24mm f/3.5 ED AS UMC
• Samyang 35mm f/1.4 AS UMC
• Samyang 85mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC

To compensate for the significantly different flange distance from traditional SLRs to the Sony A7 and A7r, these lenses have an additional tube at their base, notably extending the size of the lens compared to the DSLR versions. According to DPReview, it's an increase of approximately 26mm, which is around an inch of extra space. That's a substantial bulk increase, especially on the comparatively small mirrorless body of the A7 and A7r.

There's no official word on price or availability yet, despite being announced by Samyang. But these lenses are well known for being affordable, so hopefully these five lenses will remain so.
