Leica presents “Let Us Roam”, a series of short films about skateboarding (VIDEO)

 

 

Generally speaking, Leica isn't the first name you think of when you think skate photography. The punk and grunge ethos that infused skating from its early days seems hard to reconcile with the precision engineering and incredibly steep pricetags of Leica gear. Yet Leica has helped put together a short film series called Let Us Roam, looking at artists inside the world of skating.

You can get a feel for what the video series will include in the trailer below, which gives a brief glimpse at the artists that will be profiled in the series. You can see brief profiles of them here, including some of their work. While they're all skaters of one stripe or another, these videos will also focus on their photography and videography endeavors.

Like we said from the outset, it's a bit of a strange combination to combine skaters and Leica—but if the images these four people are able to obtain are any indication, the fit's a good one!
