Panasonic FZ1000 vs. Sony RX10 match-up updated, post-price drop!

 

 

When we previously evaluated the stellar RX10 against its new (and only) competitor, the FZ1000, our decision was easy. The $1,299 RX10, while incredible, simply wasn't 44.44% better than the $899 FZ1000. Panasonic won the race by a country mile.

We'd no sooner handed the bridge-camera crown to the Panasonic FZ1000 than we received news of a whopping $300 price drop from Sony. So we returned the field of battle to try to shed some light on the best choice post-price drop and added a new addendum with our findings. Lest you think we were able to determine an unequivocal 'winner,' we'll spoil it for you: this one was too close to call for every photogrpaher. That said, we were able to provide some helpful context and information to help our readers with this hard decision.
