Tempted by Ricoh's feature-rich, 24-megapixel Pentax K-3 digital SLR, but want something a little more visually interesting than the typical, plain black camera body? It seems like most cameras aimed at enthusiasts take the staid route, although the limited-edition silver variant of the Pentax K-3 shows that even enthusiast camera makers can let their hair down occasionally.

And now, you have another option: a limited-edition gunmetal variant of the K-3. The just-announced Pentax K-3 Prestige ships this August at a pricetag of US$1,400, and like the Limited Silver version before it, is limited to only 2,000 units worldwide. It comes paired with a gunmetal-gray BG-5 portrait / battery grip and a black leather strap, as well as two batteries. (That's one for the grip, and one for the camera body itself.) And the camera body also comes with the latest v1.10 firmware -- which adds diffraction correction functionality -- already installed.

In other respects, the Pentax K-3 Prestige is identical to the standard version. You'll find an in-depth analysis of this camera and its unique on-demand low-pass filtering capability in our Pentax K-3 review!

Want one for yourself? Given the limited supply of 2,000 units globally, you'll want to act quickly! Pre-order your Pentax K-3 Prestige today from Imaging Resource affiliate Adorama! (And for a limited time, you can also get the Pentax K-3 Limited Silver with a US$200 instant rebate, making that version of the K-3 around US$1,300 after rebate.)

The Pentax K-3 Prestige comes with matching battery grip, two battery packs, and a black leather strap. Other than color and bundle, it's otherwise identical to the standard model.
