Last month, Ricoh launched its brand-new Pentax K-S2 DSLR and weather-sealed, retractable 18-50mm lens at the CP+ Camera and Photo Imaging Show in Japan. We posted our First Shots from the feature-rich and enthusiast-grade K-S2 a couple of weeks ago, and now it's left the lab and headed out into the real world for the first part of my Pentax K-S2 gallery!
Over the weekend, I headed out with the K-S2 in search of some new and interesting subjects to get my creative juices flowing. A spur-of-the-moment roadtrip to nearby Nashville, Tennessee was called for, but the trip took on a life of its own as a brief stop for lunch enroute led me into the sleepy and rather photogenic town of Cookeville.
Not only did this historic railroad town offer plenty of color and interest, it also dealt a generous portion of excitement as I accidentally stumbled on fire crews battling to extinguish a blaze a short distance from where I was shooting in Dogwood Park. And it wasn't just Cookeville that caught my eye, either. As the sun set, I made it to Nashville in time for a little night shooting in the neon-lit music mecca as well!
