Seattle-based photographer, John Keatley, has shared an insightful interview he made with Maren Levinson, an artist rep, at Keatley’s Survival Guide Workshop Weekend.

The interview comes in at roughly five minutes long, during which Levinson hits on a number of critical topics regarding the current state of the photography industry.

Specifically, Levinson speaks to the importance of standing out among the crowd by offering something no one else can offer. In its simplest form, she emphasizes that in a world drowning in hundreds of millions of smartphone and consumer-level DSLR photos, it’s important to define and refine a niche.
