In iOS 8, Apple finally opened up third party access to the keyboard, giving developers and users means to customize their keyboards however they see fit. Naturally, many developers created customized tools that can change the font, color, and style of keyboards, but a few have gone above and beyond, providing unique keyboards to add an even more unique touch to how users communicate with one another.

Of all the keyboards I’ve come across thus far, a new one called KeyFeed is without a doubt the most innovative use of the keyboard interface. Deemed ‘Instagram at your fingertips’ by its creators, KeyFeed is an iPhone keyboard that lets you view, share and ‘like’ images in your Instagram directly from your iPhone’s keyboard while typing.

Like any other third party keyboard, you must first download KeyFeed as an app. Once downloaded and installed, KeyFeed becomes another option accessible when you’re in an application that requires the keyboard. By simply swiping left or right, you can scroll through your feed and catch up with the people you follow without ever opening Instagram. A single tap will share the image and a double tap will ‘like’ a photo.

KeyFeed is available for free in the iOS App Store. You can download it by clicking here.
