GoPro has announced its latest action camera, the GoPro HERO+ WiFi. Designed to be an entry-level camera, the GoPro HERO+ drops all the fancy features and keeps it simple providing 1080p60 video and WiFi connectivity for only $200.

This new entry-level camera might seem redundant or insignificant at first, but it fills a gap in GoPro’s action cam lineup that many casual consumers are looking for, an action camera from GoPro that’s $200 and can shoot 1080p video at 60 frames per second.

In addition to the 1080p60 video and WiFi connectivity, the HERO+ WiFi can also capture imagery via 720p60 video and 8-megapixel photos in standard, time-lapse and burst modes. Bluetooth connectivity is also included and GoPro’s has built-in its new QuikCapture mode for easy ‘one-touch’ recording and editing.

The HERO+ WiFi is built into a durable housing that’s waterproof down to 131 feet (40m) and can be secured via GoPro’s proprietary connector onto the plethora of mounts GoPro offers.

Below is a quick glimpse at the camera and its video capabilities, as well as some example stills taken with the camera:

The GoPro Hero+ WiFi is set to go on sale for $200 on October 4th, 2015. In addition to this new release, GoPro will be dropping the price of its cube-shaped HERO4 Session camera by $100, bringing it down to $300.
