Adobe Lightroom / Camera Raw now support Canon 80D, Nikon D500, Sony A6300 and more new cams

If you're in the market for a new camera -- or you've just bought one -- and you want to be able to process raw files on your computer, then Adobe has good news for you. It's just released updates to both Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Camera Raw / DNG Converter adding support for a raft of recently launched or soon-to-ship camera models, as well as one new gimbal-stabilized camera aimed at the aerial imaging market.

All three programs add support for the same list of cameras, as follows:

As well as adding support for all of these new cameras, Adobe Camera Raw 9.5 and Lightroom CC 2015.5 / Lightroom 6.5 add support a whopping list of interchangeable or built-in lenses for automatic profile-based correction:

Camera Raw 9.5 also tweaks several features, and fixes a few bugs, as follows:

Feature changes in Camera Raw 9.5

• Camera Raw 9.5 has an updated visual interface designed to align with Photoshop CC and Bridge.

• Pressing the Option/Alt key while click-dragging on a perimeter handle of a Radial Filter will adjust only that side of the filter. This change in behavior was made to match Lightroom’s behavior. Previously, Option/Alt-clicking on a Radial Filter in Camera Raw would delete that filter.

• Camera Raw Filter now displays the histogram and RGB color readouts using the assigned color space of the corresponding Photoshop document. Previously, Camera Raw Filter always displayed its histogram and RGB color readouts using the ProPhoto color space.

• Improve quality of Boundary Warp for some panoramas.

Bug fixes in Camera Raw 9.5

• Crash / hang in Camera Raw and DNG Converter on some Mac systems when saving multiple images.

• Corruption issue that would prevent DNG images originally created by Parrot Bebop Drone devices from being opened after metadata updates.

• EXIF metadata for SIGMA 50mm f/1.4 ART lens on Canon was incorrectly identified as Zeiss Milvus 50mm f/1.4.

• Dust spots removed from one image are automatically removed from others in the same panorama merge.

• 'Auto' projection option removed from Panorama Merge, as it always picked the same projection mode.

• Reinstated scroll bars in the Book module

• Numerous Boundary Warp bugs fixed

• Numerous sync errors fixed.

• Rename failed if raw+jpeg pairs were copied to a second location

• Shooting tethered, shutter button will not move to top of the screen

• The video cache was not correctly limited to the size set in Preferences

• Photomerge fails with virtual copies

• Droplets no longer work with Export Actions

• Impromptu slideshow gave error message “video support is disabled”

• Import didn’t work if you weren’t signed in

• Certain dates couldn’t be entered in Edit Capture Time dialog (1966, 1969, 1999, etc.)

• Videos wouldn’t play on some systems

• Slideshow module wouldn’t work on some systems

• Slideshows appeared much lower res than expected

• Incorrect value for EXIF:ColorSpace in exported TIFFs

• After export shortcut CTRL+ALT+S not working in Develop

• Crashes when tethered to Canon cameras (5D III, 5DS, 1DS III)

• SDK broken edit_field’s validate function, disabling existing plugins

• Months in non-English configurations show in English

• Secondary window blocks mouse clicks even when closed after switching desktop spaces

• Can’t import DNG files from Parrot Bebop drone
