There's a nice trend going on in the mirrorless world these days: take a lot of the features that make the flagship model special and load many of them into a smaller, less expensive package. Examples include the Fuji X-T10, the Olympus E-M10 II, the Sony A6300 and now the Panasonic GX85. If you build it smaller and for less money, people will come.

Our Panasonic GX85 sample is still in its beta form, having not yet received full production firmware, but our friends over at Panasonic assured us it was fully shootable and gave us the go-ahead to bring you an initial sampling of real-world gallery images. We've paired the GX85 with the 12-30mm kit lens as well as a few others to give you a first look at real world image quality from the first Panasonic camera with no optical low-pass filter.
