Shenzen Dongzheng Optics (DZoptics) recently announced their first lens, the manual focus Kerlee 35mm f/1.2. This full frame SLR optic will be available for Canon EF, Nikon F, Pentax K and Sony FE mounts when it releases.
According to DZoptics, this is the world's fastest full-frame SLR 35mm lens. (It is worth noting that Voigtlander does make a 35mm f/1.2 for M mount which can be adapted to various full-frame SLR cameras.)
The primary features of the Kerlee 35mm f/1.2 include "smooth focusing feel," 11 elements in 10 groups, a close focus distance of just under a foot (0.3 meters) and multilayer coating designed to improve image quality and reduce ghosting.
Pricing and availability information is not yet available, but New Zealand-based photographer Richard Wong was provided a pre-production sample of the lens to test. His full review is in the works, but he offered a few thoughts and an assortment of large sample images captured with the glass here. He notes that the build quality and image quality is impressive and that he suspects that the lens will launch with a price that is easy on the wallet.
