In April, ON1 software announced ON1 Photo Raw, which our own Mike Tomkins called "perhaps the most promising new raw processing tool we've seen in years…"

The "lightning fast" raw processor is coming this fall, but before then ON1 wants you to give them ideas and let them know what you expect from a raw editor. In pursuit of their goal to deliver the best software out there, they've started The Photo Raw project.

"You now have a voice in the future of raw photo editing," says ON1.

How it works is that you submit an idea for a Photo Raw feature and hope to garner support for your idea. If your suggestion reaches 200 three-star or higher ratings, then ON1's team will review the idea and interact with you about it. Of course, not every idea, even a good and well-supported one, can necessarily be implemented, but they'll do their best.

Beyond being rewarded with a better piece of software when it launches in the fall, anyone who submits or rates ideas or engages in discussion will be entered into a monthly drawing for a $500 Amazon gift card.

You can sort through all of the ideas here, but right now some of the top ideas so far include high-quality handling of Fuji X-series raw files, auto-aligning of focus stacking images, a Lightroom catalog importer, and much more. If you have any ideas, be sure to submit them!
