Simplifying time lapse capture: Timelapse+ VIEW offers live previews, auto-ramped exposure and more

Wouldn't it be nice if you could preview your time lapse while it was still recording? What about having a time lapse device that could automatically bulb ramp to "deliver perfect results for sunset, sunrise or night sky captures?" The Timelapse+ VIEW intervalometer ticks both those boxes and more. You can view a preview of your time lapse simply by gesturing in front of the device, allowing you to view the video without touching your camera or disrupting the shooting process.
Coming out this fall, the Timelapse+ VIEW mounts on your camera's hot shoe and then connects via a USB 2.0 cord. It's compatible with Canon and Nikon DSLRs and Sony Alpha mirrorless cameras. Technical specs include an internal lithium-ion battery which provides over 15 hours of run time (and which can be charged while operating), as well as an internal 16GB SD card and an SD card slot for saving either images or XML files, plus Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless connectivity. Physical features include a 160 x 128-pixel, six-bit color OLED screen, a nine-axis compass/gyro/accelerometer, wide-range light sensor, gesture and proximity sensor and internal audio speaker. You can see the Timelapse+ VIEW in action in the video below.
You can also see the accompanying smartphone application in action in the video. The app is perfect for long-term time lapse setups, allowing you to preview the time lapse, adjust settings or remotely download images, all while the VIEW is recording time lapse images.
The Timelapse+ VIEW is available for preorder now and it will start shipping in mid-September. You can order yours for US$365 here. Timelapseplus' CEO/Founder Elijah Wood has definitely pushed intervalometers forward with the VIEW. I can't wait to see what customers create with the tool this fall!
