Today’s the day: Black Friday roundup, November 25
posted Friday, November 25, 2016 at 9:18 AM EST
Black Friday is now upon us, regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season and one of the heaviest shopping periods of the year. Retailers have traditionally offered deep discounts and incentives to move a larger volume of products.
If you've been following our Black Friday 2016 article, you'll no doubt have seen that there are some amazing deals on entry-level cameras like the Canon T6 and T6i, the Nikon D3400 and the Sony a6000. As well, many deals that were slated to end as pre-Black Friday incentives have been extended over the weekend, and retailers have already begun to match prices with their competitors. If you're looking to buy a new camera or camera accessory, this really is the best time of year to do so.
There have been a few price drops and new additions today, but it seems that the retailers have found their price points and are sticking to them. Here's what we've noticed today:
-
Canon EOS Rebel T5 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm and 75-300mm Lenses Bundle @ $449 (compare to $749) (Offer ends Nov 26 at 11:59 PM EST) [B&H]
-
Canon 32GB VIXIA HF G20 Full HD Camcorder @ $399 (compare to $599) (Deal ends November 27 at 11:59 PM EST) [B&H]
-
Canon EOS C100 Cinema EOS Camera (Body Only) + BP955 Battery pack @ $1,799 (compare to $3,999) (Offer ends November 28) [B&H]
-
Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD (Canon) (Nikon) (Sony) + free 95mm UV filter @ $969 (compare to $1,069) [B&H]
The Canon C100 deal is especially noteworthy - a $2,200 discount is pretty amazing. Though with the introduction of the C100 mark II, we can imagine there are some units on shelves that they would like to move.
If you're looking for even bigger deals, you might consider looking at used camera gear retailers:
-
KEH Camera has a discount of 10% off Nikon and Canon gear, and 15% off everything else, with the code BFDAY16. They also have a "Doorbuster Deals" section here.
-
MPB has also reduced prices on a large selection of their gear, which you can see here.
Finally, if you're in the stores over the weekend, you might want to keep an eye on the flyers to see if someone has had some fun with them, like artist Jeff Wysaki did last year in Target:
