English high-end camera accessories brand Hawkesmill has announced a new line of smaller, luxurious camera bags. The new line is designed to carry smaller cameras such as mirrorless systems or compact Leica cameras, although it can hold a DSLR with a single lens attached. The more compact carrying solution joins a larger messenger bag, which is designed for bigger gear and carrying up to a 15" MacBook Pro.
Hawkesmill bags are constructed of high-end materials and carry a hefty price. The larger messenger bags cost £549, which converts to just under US$700 at the time of writing. The new smaller bags are less expensive, ranging from £329 to £469, which converts to around $420 to just under $600.
Dimensions of the new Hawkesmill bags are 10 x 8 x 5 inches (width x height x depth) and they weigh from 2.5 to 3.5 pounds depending on the selected model. All the bags feature a dual D-ring closure and trigger hook system and a second D-ring which serves as overflow protection when the bag is packed a bit too tightly. The bags include a removable, replaceable insert to ensure that the bags are prepared for a lifetime of use. All Hawkesmill bags are covered by a lifetime warranty.
There are five models available in the smaller size, including: an all-black Bond Street; olive Jermyn Street bag, which utilizes a traditional Harris Tweed design; an 18-ounce canvas Marlborough model with "English vegetable tanned leather;" a black and charcoal Harris Tweed Sloane Street bag; and finally the Regent Street, which for the first time ever in a camera bag uses luxurious Horween Chromexcel leather.
