Think Tank Photo has announced new additions to its carrying solution lineup, including a new shoulder bag series and two additions to their “Airport” series.

Think Tank Signature Series

Blending modern fabrics and a classic style, the Think Tank Signature Series includes a pair of shoulder bags. Think Tank Photo CEO and lead designer Doug Murdoch says of the new bags, “The new Signature Series features a modern fabric that is soft to the touch and yet is durable. In addition, the zippered flap provides full closure and security to the main compartment, or tucks away when not in use.  It is a next generation design for today’s discerning photographer.”

Available in two sizes, Signature 10 and Signature 13, the two versions share many of the same features, including one-handed operation of the front flap, a dedicated phone pocket (capable of fitting phones as large as an iPhone 7 Plus or Samsung S7 Edge), wide handle pass-through for attaching to rolling luggage, a large front pocket, a long neoprene shoulder pad for comfortable cross-body wearing, a small zippered front pocket, movable quilted velex dividers  and an included rain cover. Regarding the rain cover, the bag is coated for water resistance but the rain cover is included for heavy rain conditions.

The primary difference between the Signature 10 and 13 then is size; the 10 fits a 10-inch tablet and the 13 fits a 13-inch laptop. Regarding gear capacity, the Signature 10 can fit a standard-size DSLR with three to four prime lenses and accessories or a complete mirrorless system with three to four lenses plus accessories. The Signature 13 fits a standard-size DSLR with a mid-range zoom attached plus two to three additional lenses. When empty, the Signature 10 weighs 2.8 pounds (1.3 kilograms) and the 13 weighs 3.1 pounds (1.4 kilograms). Both bags are constructed using a 240D wool-like nylon/poly blend, full-grain leather accents, antique-plated metal hardware and YKK RC-Fuse zippers.

Think Tank Airport TakeOff V2.0

Think Tank has revised its popular Airport TakeOff rolling backpack with a version 2.0. The new version is 15 percent lighter and is designed to meet standard U.S. domestic and international carry-on requirements. Murdoch says of the TakeOff V2.0, “The Airport TakeOff V2.0 features a custom designed retractable handle with inset channel on aluminum tubing for added strength and durability, making it easier to roll down the street. A newly added tablet carry in the laptop pocket and dedicated smart phone pocket in the front flap insure photographers’ tools are easily accessible and at the ready.”

Built for durability, the bag uses ballistic nylon and high-density velex. The exterior fabric is water-repellant and the underside of all fabric has a polyurethane coating. The bag has extra tall skid plates as well. While rugged, the bag is lightweight and can weigh as little as 7 pounds (3.2 kilograms) when empty. Using optional accessories can take the weight up to 8.7 pounds (3.9 kilograms).

You can order the Think Tank Airport TakeOff V2.0 now. It is available in black for right around US$370.

Think Tank Airport Helipak V2.0

If you have a DJI Phantom 4 or a similarly-sized drone, then the new Airport Helipak V2.0 should interest you. The backpack has been upgraded to fit more accessories than before. “We updated the backpack to carry a DJI Phantom 4, a 15” laptop, controller, GoPros, chargers, spare rotors, extra batteries, jacket, tools, and more. The contoured adjustable harness with lumbar support, articulated air-channel, removable padded waistbelt, and height-adjustable sternum strap enable comfort for travel into remote areas.”
