A time-lapse view of the world: Nikon celebrates its 100th anniversary by travelling to space

As Nikon celebrates its 100th anniversary, the Japanese giant is marking the occasion in a number of ways. We have seen their special edition products, including gunmetal gray Nikon D5 and D500 cameras, but they also want to call attention to how their products have been used over the last century.
Nikon’s relationship with space exploration is well-known. A modified Nikon F camera made its way into the great beyond aboard Apollo 15 in 1971. Since then, Nikon cameras, up to their latest digital technologies, have been aboard every manned flight since. To help celebrate Nikon’s contributions to space photography, SmugMug Films has edited a time-lapse video using thousands of still images. Sit back, relax and enjoy “Nikon Space: time-lapse video of the world.”
