In conjunction with National Camera Day, Canon has at long last announced a successor to its ultra-popular compact entry-level SL1 DSLR, the Canon Rebel SL2.
This new Rebel brings with it a wealth of improvements, including a 24-megapixel APS-C sensor, DIGIC 7 image processor and Dual Pixel CMOS AF. Further, the camera, while still very compact, has been redesigned to have a deeper grip and a more ergonimically comfortable feel. Additionally, the touchscreen is now a video-friendly tilt/swivel Vari-angle display.
The Canon Rebel SL2 will be available in late July as a body-only configuration and in a kit with the EF-S 18-55mm f/4-5.6 lens for around $500 and $700, respectively. For all the details and to preorder one of your own, head to our Canon SL2 Hands-on Preview!
