Earlier this year, Sigma released their new 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary telephoto zoom lens, which not only covers a full-frame sensor in a relatively compact and lightweight form factor but also has an MSRP just under US$800, making it one of the most affordable telephoto zoom lenses on the market. We recently had the chance to field test the lens with a Nikon D500 and came away impressed.

In our Sigma 100-400mm Field Test, you can read about how the lens performs in a wide array of situations and learn about its strengths and weaknesses. The lens is easy to handhold for extended periods of time thanks to its lightweight design and for a compact and affordable lens, it delivers good quality images.
