Iceland is one of the most popular travel destinations in the world for landscape photographers and with great reason. The small Iceland nation offers a wide array of very distinct landscapes and vistas, including glacial lagoons, black sand beaches, sweeping landscapes and many gorgeous waterfalls. I was fortunate enough to visit Iceland last year and fellow photographer Andrew Marr recently travelled there. We have featured a few of his Iceland-focused videos lately, but his latest one is perfect for anyone considering a trip to the Nordic island.

In the video below, Marr covers all the big questions surrounding a photography-oriented trip to Iceland, including the planning process, scouting locations in advance, arranging transport, camping, scheduling, costs, photo gear, travel gear and when the best time of year is to visit Iceland.

If you're curious and as discussed in Andrew's video, the camera gear he took included a Nikon D800, 17-35mm, 24-70mm and 70-200mm lenses with Lee filters and polarizers. Plus as we have previously seen, Marr took his DJI Mavic Pro to Iceland as well.
