Ahead of the PhotoPlus Expo in New York in late October, Sigma announced their new Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens for APS-C Sony E-mount cameras and Micro Four Thirds. The company has now announced the release date and pricing for the new fast wide-angle prime lens.
Shipping at the end of November, B&H says on November 22, the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary will retail for just under US$450. The lens, which is a 24mm equivalent lens on Sony APS-C cameras and a 32mm equivalent prime on Micro Four Thirds, has 16 elements in 13 groups, including 3 FLD, 2 SLD and 2 aspherical elements. The lens also includes Sigma's Super Multi-Layer Coating and a stepping autofocus motor to make the lens better-suited for video recording.
