7 techniques for creating amazing-looking eyes in Photoshop

 

 

If eyes are the windows to the soul, then they should be the focus of your portraiture. While it's easy to edit eyes to make them pop in a portrait, it's not so simple to do so in a realistic, natural-looking way. In the video below created by the Photoshop Training Channel, Jesús Ramirez shows us how to enhance eyes in Photoshop using seven different techniques.

The different techniques can be used in conjunction with each other, but the most important thing is determining what you want to convey in your image and then going from there. It's possible to change the color of your subject's eyes, for example, as Ramirez shows, but it's not always the case that it's a good idea for your particular image to do so. The same is true for lightening or darkening eyes. A subtle touch is often the best course of action. With that said, it's good to learn how to do everything in the video below so that you have a full arsenal of eye-popping skills at your disposal.
