Fujifilm has announced the release of Fujifilm X RAW Studio, a new proprietary RAW conversion software. The software has been designed to be easy to use and provide a fast means to convert RAW files.
The software leverages a connected Fujifilm camera's X-Processor Pro to make batch RAW conversions faster, all without compromising image quality. The new X RAW Studio software allows users to store conversion settings as well, meaning you can then copy settings between images. The available settings are much like those found when performing in-camera RAW conversion on a Fujifilm camera. You can preview RAW conversion parameters as well and perform side-by-side comparisons.
It is interesting how the new software utilizes the connected camera during the RAW conversion process. This might not quite be the right software for everyone, as it is not very full-featured, but it may fit into some Fujifilm users' workflows.
Fujifilm X RAW Studio is available now for Mac and will be available for Windows computers this coming February. The software is avaliable for free. Mac users can download it here. Note that if you have a Fujifilm GFX 50S or Fujifilm X-T2 camera, you will need to update your camera's firmware with newly-available software. These firmware updates will be detailed in tomorrow's edition of Firmware Friday, so stay tuned for more information.
