Every year around this time, Fujifilm updates its rugged, weatherproof XP camera series with a new model, and it seems 2018 is no exception. The Fuji XP130 is set to go on sale next month priced at US$230 or thereabouts, and looks a whole lot like last year's XP120, but with a few important tweaks.

For one thing, the Wi-Fi radio which made its debut last year is supplemented with a Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy radio this year, allowing for an always-on, low-power connection with your smartphone that can be used to keep time and location information in sync, as well as to raise the much faster Wi-Fi connection as needed.

Fuji has also added a couple of other new features in the XP130, including an electronic level function and an eye detection autofocus mode, but in most other respects, the new camera looks a whole lot like the rugged waterproof (65 feet), shockproof (5.7 feet), freezeproof (14F) and dustproof camera which it replaces.
