Photographing mountain hares with a Nikon D5 and 200-500mm f/5.6 zoom lens

 

 

Nature and wildlife photographer Morten Hilmer sure does get around! Last week we joined him on a walk through the woods of his native Denmark and earlier this year we followed him as he photographed landscapes and wildlife in Norway. Now he's in Scotland and he's back to his wildlife ways.

In Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands, Hilmer is pursuing photographs of mountain hares. In the video below, Hilmer is well-prepared with his Nikon D5 and Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6 lens, but the conditions were very windy so the audio is spotty in places.
