Big news, full-frame fans: The brand-new Sony A7 Mark III just entered stage left, and it's the talk of the WPPI show! Following hot on the heels of the popular A7R Mark III, the A7 Mark III is significantly less expensive, putting it within reach of many more photographers. But make no mistake, this is not merely an entry-level shooter, despite the affordable pricetag: The specs are highly impressive as well.

The Sony A7 III delivers a solid punch in the performance and image quality departments, thanks to a brand-new imaging pipeline with 24.2-megapixel full-frame sensor, BIONZ X processor and front-end LSI capable of silent capture at 10 frames per second, complete with AF and AE.

There's also a 693-point hybrid autofocus system that's inherited from the flagship Sony A9, and which is not only exceptionally point-dense but also covers 93% of the image frame. Add in the A7 III's generous 177-frame buffer, its swift UHS-II storage, oversampled 4K video and industry-leading battery life, and we have a feeling that these will be flying off the shelves.

The Sony A7 Mark III will be available April 10th, with pre-orders starting on February 28th. Pricing is set at US$2,000 body-only, and $2,200 in a kit with the with the FE 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS lens. (Canada: $2,600/$2,800).
